City of Franklin Collection System, Pumping Station and River Crossing, Franklin, Ohio
Design and layout of a sewage collection system for the western portion of Franklin including a pumping facility and river crossing by means of a suspended force main (written about in Municipal Construction, a nationally distributed magazine).
$1,500,000 - State and Municipally funded

Northridge Relief Sewer, Harrison Township, Montgomery County, Ohio
Completed the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment and Phase II work for this project along 5 miles of North Dixie corridor, and environmentally complicated area directly over a sole source aquifer and mostly within a Well Field Protection Area.  Phase II investigation was recommended for 40 sites of concern.  Soil vapor analysis was used as an initial Phase II step to eliminate a number of the 40 sites from concern.  Soil borings and groundwater monitoring wells were then installed as a second step to define the degree of contamination at these sites, and direct push (Geoprobe) technology was used to define the extent.
Based on the resulting recommendations, sewer design and/or alignment is being modified at impacted points to avoid project delays during construction and to eliminate County environmental liability.  Ongoing work includes sampling and closure of previously unknown underground storage tanks and remediation of contaminated soils.
